spaikuso miki and i went into the city today and hung out and walked around and went to 2 record stores, only to discover that MERRIWEATHER POST PAVILION IS ALREADY ON SALE. SO I GOT IT, AND IT IS AMAAAAAAZING.
ok, i already knew it rocked really fucking hard from the listening party, but being able to blast myself out with it and just be absorbed in it..... ;kjsdf;ljasdf;lja sd;fjk;kdjf;kldsjflksdjfksdjflk;sdjf; it's mind blowingly good. like almost made me cry good.
i want to play it sooooo loudly. we are talking break my speakers loud here. uhgn, A++++++++
the album is so vibrant and squishy and bursting and so fucking vivid, i can't get over it. they honed in their live songs and made them better for the album. that never happens, i can't get over it.
i also finally got the xtal castles album, the live Why? cd, the thom yorke remix cd from japan (shiny gold! not $25!), and the keep the car running vinyl single, but they will have to wait until the merriweather post pavilion novelty wears off. which could be a while.
speaking of novelties, i don't think the optical illusion really works well on the album itself. maybe because of the sticker that's actually on mine or because of the paper's sheen...
and i got my legend of zelda shirt on clearance AND i drew multiple times today. today was a good day. it was snowing and very pretty and fun in the city.
