spaiku saves rock
Feb. 6th, 2005 04:04 pmso... today we took electra to the airport. then, some time later, i found myself at best buy. got true love waits with all the piano versions. it's really good. i'd already heard the piano version of paranoid android, so i knew it'd be good.
at the check out, see entertainment weekly. their opinions don't matter to me at all, but they were like "green day saves rock!". what the fuck? i don't like green day. i've nothing against the people but i don't think they quite qualify as "saves rock". american idiot had some merit as a message, but to me the song was annoying. and then this Boulevard of broken dreams crap. i don't like that song either. it bores me... in my opinion, they haven't saved rock, they've just added to the growing radio station rock menace. you know... songs that all sound the same. about the same thing. they're hard to tell apart but people like them because they're repetitive and whiney. okay. i'll stop before i turn hypocrite like.
now we turn the subject matter to music i do like. listened to coldplay's parachutes. that was pretty good... especially liked the spies track. listened to the shins oh inverted world a while ago. that wasn't bad. kinda 60s esque. but then i listened to the velvet underground & nico cd and THAT was 60s ish. whoaaah man, whooaaah. i didn't like the tracks where that girl with the wierd accent was singing. no no no...
back to music i don't like: interpol - antics. didn't like that cd. it was just like 'what?' didn't like that. didn't remind me of the 80s at all [a.k.a. fuck you newsweek!]
uh...
so tonight
i might stay home
and have fun
alone. like
talking to chris.
or i could
go over
roko's
house.
dunno. dun really wanna do that. it's not the company, it's me. not feeling much up to it. and got homework and shit i'd rather be doing... still, i want to go a little. i dunno why.
must figure out how to purchase my DA subscription. the plan fell through when i found out electra doesn't actually have a credit card. or something. i don't know. she's not helpful at all. so... i dunno. i'll think on that one. for a bit...
