don't get too freaky on me
Jun. 1st, 2009 09:40 pmi find it highly entertaining that the shelves of science and religion books face each other in barnes and noble. perhaps the b&n folks, in their perverse wisdom, set it up that way on purpose. have the religious people see that people who think we came from monkeys still exist, and then have the science people see that people who still buy that crap about the talking snake still exist, and then have them both run to their perspective, nicely priced, convenient, and comforting ideologies situated across from one anther.
i also am convinced that the people who made the pei wei fortune cookie fortunes had the "in bed" addition in mind as they wrote each one:
"your mind is filled with new ideas, explore them"
"opportunities surround you if you know where to look"
"do not give up; the beginning is always the hardest"
and the other one was something like "a sound mind and a sound body are the foundation of a good family"

i am about to be a pilgrim in an unholy land.
